Stand Sure is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. Stand Sure depends on your phone, your battery, and a working network connection, and it may fail at the moment you need it most.
Stand Sure is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using the app does not create an attorney-client relationship with Stand Sure App LLC.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Stand Sure App LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Stand Sure," "we," "us"). They govern your use of the Stand Sure mobile application, standsure.app and its subdomains, and any related services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials secure, and to be responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.
Stand Sure provides software for documenting encounters with law enforcement, preserving that documentation with verifiable integrity records, generating documents you may choose to file yourself, and requesting contact from attorneys or advocacy organizations.
Stand Sure is not a law firm. We do not practice law, do not provide legal advice or representation, and do not review the legal merits of your situation. Educational content, rights information, generated documents, and case-status indicators in the Service are informational only. Nothing in the Service is a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
No attorney-client relationship is formed with Stand Sure App LLC by using the Service, by submitting an incident, or by communicating through the app.
Do not rely on Stand Sure as your only means of getting help. Panic Mode, alerts, recording, and location features depend on factors outside our control — device battery and storage, operating system behavior, cellular or network coverage, carrier delivery, and third-party services. Any of these can fail, be delayed, or be disabled during an encounter.
We do not guarantee that a recording will start, that a notification will be delivered, that a location will be captured, or that the Service will be available at any particular time.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of significant changes.
You retain ownership of the recordings, files, and written material you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you — including delivering it to recipients you have authorized. We claim no other rights in it.
You are responsible for Your Content, including whether recording or sharing it is lawful where you are. Recording laws vary by state and situation. You are responsible for knowing and following the law that applies to you.
If you provide contact information for another person, you confirm you have a reasonable basis for doing so.
Stand Sure preserves evidence using append-only records and cryptographic integrity checks. Once a record is committed, it cannot be modified or deleted, including by us and including if you later delete your account. You should not commit evidence you may want removed.
If you close your account and sealed evidence exists, we remove your personal profile information and disable sign-in, but the sealed records and their custody history remain. See the Privacy Policy for details and limitations.
Attorneys and advocacy organizations who use Stand Sure are independent third parties. They are not our employees, agents, or partners, and we do not supervise their work.
You agree not to:
Stand Sure Account Alerts, operated by Stand Sure App LLC.
Transactional text messages to registered Stand Sure users, including one-time login verification codes, security notifications, and notifications about the status of your own account and activity in the app.
You opt in inside the Stand Sure app, in Settings, by entering your mobile number and checking a consent box that is not checked by default. Creating an account does not opt you in, and we do not ask for a mobile number when you sign up. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using Stand Sure or of purchasing any goods or services. This is the only way to opt in to this program.
Message frequency varies based on your account activity.
Message and data rates may apply. Stand Sure does not charge for these messages; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.
Reply STOP to any message to cancel. After you send STOP, we will send one confirmation message and you will receive no further messages from this program. You may also manage message preferences in the app. To rejoin, opt in again in the app.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and depends on your carrier and device. Supported carriers may change without notice.
We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See the Privacy Policy.
Some features may be offered free and others for a fee. Where a fee applies, the price and billing terms will be disclosed before you are charged. Fees are stated in U.S. dollars. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, payments are non-refundable.
The Service, including its software, design, text, and trademarks, is owned by Stand Sure App LLC and protected by intellectual property laws, including issued and pending patents. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time, subject to §6. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including §§5, 6, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 16 — will survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY RECORDING, NOTIFICATION, OR LOCATION CAPTURE WILL SUCCEED, THAT EVIDENCE WILL BE ADMISSIBLE IN ANY PROCEEDING, OR THAT ANY ATTORNEY OR ADVOCATE WILL RESPOND TO OR ACCEPT YOUR CASE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STAND SURE APP LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF EVIDENCE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR ANY LEGAL OUTCOME, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stand Sure App LLC from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and Stand Sure agree that any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief, or you from bringing a claim in small claims court.
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
